As a nursing student, you know that nursing school requires an endless amount of rigorous studying.
In order to be successful in nursing school, it's necessary that each nursing student create a designated study space in their bedroom, home, and/or dorm rooms.
This space can be a desk space, office, etc. but it must be a location where you can successfully endure many hours of studying during nursing school. Since this space is a place you will be spending much of your time, it's important to create a study space that is comfortable, calm, peaceful but also that is capable of storing everything you'll need within an arms reach.
In order to be successful while studying nursing, you'll need to allow for all of the complicated concepts that you're learning to solidify in your head. In order to do so, you'll need to be fully focused and emersed in your studies. This means your study space should not include any distractions. In order to avoid temptations that will draw you away from your nursing studies, avoid placing your desk near a big open window with a lot of activity outside, near a kitchen, facing your bed, or near any other source of distraction.
Nursing school requires that you learn and master multiple subjects that contain various amounts of information. All of these subjects are learned separately at first, such as Pharmacology, Pathophysiology, Health Assessment, Pediatric nursing, Mental Health in Nursing, Complex Adult Health, Maternal-child nursing, and more! You must make sure your study space is highly organized in order to keep track of these various subjects
As mentioned earlier in this article, you will likely be spending hours of your day studying during nursing school. Make sure this space is comfortable and ergonomically friendly.
Nursing school involves purchasing large textbooks for each subject. Make sure your study are is capable of maintaining and storing all of your nursing books with either a bookshelf or selves of some sort.
As a nursing student, you will be required to partake in clinical. Clinical require their own separate medical supplies. Makes sure your study space has a separate area for medical supplies and equipment for clinicals.
